Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has rejected Pakistan officials’ repeated allegations that Afghanistan is behind insecurity in Pakistan, saying that Islamabad is blaming Afghanistan to conceal its own security problems.
Mujahid said that Afghanistan neither seeks to create insecurity in Pakistan nor has the capacity to spread or finance instability in other countries.
According to Mujahid insecurity in Pakistan is detrimental to both Afghanistan and the wider region and it also affects Afghanistan economically, socially, and in humanitarian terms.
He criticized Pakistani officials for blaming Afghanistan instead of fulfilling their own security responsibilities accusing them of spending resources to destabilize Afghanistan.
Mujahid described this approach as an attempt to evade primary security responsibilities contributing to regional instability and the waste of economic resources.
