Afghan diplomat Asila Wardak has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to establish a permanent mission in Kabul to monitor and respond to human rights violations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly Wardak said “Influence requires presence.”

Wardak also called for greater investment in Afghan youth, warning that prolonged exclusion from education employment and civic life could create conditions for extremism and broader security threats.
