The European Union has condemned Pakistan’s airstrikes on Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces, which killed at least 10 civilians, mostly children and injured nine others.
The EU has called on both sides to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue.

Anouar El Anouni spokesperson for the European Union’s foreign affairs, said the bloc is deeply concerned about Pakistan’s airstrikes and the civilian casualties in Afghanistan.
He emphasized that all parties involved must respect international law particularly international humanitarian law and refrain from any actions that put civilian lives at risk.

The European Union has also urged Afghanistan and Pakistan to exercise restraint prevent further escalation of tensions, and resolve their differences through diplomatic means.
The EU’s reaction comes after the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reported that at least 10 civilians most of them children, were killed and nine others injured in Pakistan’s airstrikes on Kunar and Helmand provinces on October 1.
