The Taliban’s Ministry of Defence claims its forces have killed 41 militants and captured 62 others in an operation against what it described as Shar-o-Fasad and Daesh (ISIS) insurgents in Kamdesh district of Nuristan province.
According to the Taliban statement, the militants crossed the Durand Line into Afghanistan with support from Pakistan’s military.

The Taliban Ministry of Defence warned that it would not allow any group to undermine security in areas under its control and vowed an even stronger response to any further attacks.
The ministry said: “If anyone attempts to do so again, they will face an even greater response, Inshallah.”
The reported casualty figures and allegations regarding Pakistani military support have not been independently verified.
