Five arrested near U.S.-Used Air Base in Britain

Reuters reports that British police have arrested five people near RAF Fairford air base in western England on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack.

The suspects were reportedly traveling toward the air base in three suspicious vehicles when police intervened.

RAF Fairford is a military facility used by U.S. forces and has also been used in operations linked to U.S. strikes against Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the suspects had intended to cause “major damage.”
