A contract worth nearly one billion Afghanis has been signed between the state-owned Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company and a private company to transfer water from the Shah Wa Arous Dam to Kabul.
The project comes as Kabul faces a growing drinking water shortage with many residents struggling to access sufficient clean water.
The initiative aims to improve access to drinking water for residents of the capital and help address some of the challenges caused by the ongoing water crisis.
The project is expected to play a role in improving Kabul’s water supply once implemented.
