UN human rights experts have expressed concern over the deportation of Afghans by European countries, saying such actions may violate international law.
In a statement, the experts urged the European Union to ensure that each Afghan’s individual circumstances are thoroughly assessed before deportation and that all returns are carried out in accordance with legal procedures.
They added that they had formally communicated their concerns to the European Union and the governments of several member states.
This comes as some European countries have recently held talks with the Taliban government regarding the deportation of Afghan migrants from those countries.
