Yemen’s Houthis have rejected accusations that they targeted the holy sites in Mecca calling the allegations “lies and fabrications.” The group says its attacks are directed at Saudi oil facilities and military bases rather than religious sites.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree also claimed that the group shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet over Yemen’s Marib province. The claim has not been independently verified and Saudi authorities have not confirmed the reported downing.
