Direct flights from Khwaja Abdullah Ansari International Airport in Herat to Dubai have been launched for the first time.
According to Bakhtar News Agency 53 passengers were transported from Herat to Dubai on the inaugural flight.
Airport officials said that one direct flight from Herat to Dubai is scheduled to operate every week.
Kam Air has also announced the launch of direct flights between Herat and Dubai, starting on October 27, 2026.
According to the airline, one flight will operate on this route every Tuesday.
The launch of these flights is expected to provide residents of western Afghanistan with more convenient direct travel to the United Arab Emirates and facilitate passenger transportation between the two destinations.
